1. How can I work at Spookywoods?
Our office accepts applications starting August 1 every summer for the Spooky Woods next season. Most positions are filled within a few weeks.
2. Is it scary?
We love to make you scream and have a good time. No one should be forced to go through if they don’t want to. So, all you parents that drag your kids kicking by the ticket booth please let them stay at home. I would rather see them come back when they can handle it and enjoy the show than never come see us again.
3. How did Spookywoods start?
Way back in 1985, when Tony Wohlgemuth was 15 years old, he and 5 of his friends used to camp out in the barns behind the farm house that is now the start of Spooky Woods. One night Chuck Passmore one of the 5 boys was dared to enter the old house after midnight. Chuck being the brave one he is took the dare and made his way up the creaky staircase. Once he was on the second floor he started to scream and beg for help. Micah Cox ran up the stairs to help Chuck and found out the screaming was coming from a family of bats that had made their home in the attic. This of course scared all of us boys and Micah Cox said this house is haunted. That started the haunted house that October in 1985. What started out as a staff of about 10 teenage friends and was just held in the farm house has grown into a corporation with a staff of over 300 people and a good portion of the 60 acre farm. Our first year open we sold just over 1000 tickets in a 2 week period, now we sell over 1000 tickets in an hour! We all are amazed that what started from a dare of teenagers has drawn visitors from as far away as New Zealand to come visit our event! Tony and his wife Donna own and operate Spooky Woods, Maize Adventure, Kersey Valley Zip Line, Kersey Valley High Ropes, Kersey Valley Escape and Kersey Valley Laser Tag.

Our monsters are not supposed to touch you. If they did, they would have to carry you away. You may be grabbed by one of the members of your own group who is too terrified to continue without your help.
16. Can I bring my kids?
Yes! Bring all the kids of proper age that you want. Some aspects of our shows are extremely scary. We recommend 10 years or older, but this is up to you. If your child can’t distinguish between fantasy and reality it may be cheaper to get a baby sitter. That way the rest of you will have an opportunity to enjoy the park. Some 6 year olds laugh with our monsters and some 9 year olds avoid our scarier attractions all together. You know your children best. We do not recommend bringing very young children or babies into the park as it can be chilly and loud not to mention expensive. We recommend coming to the Maize Adventure with the kids, they will sleep much better.

Each ticket is valid for one trip through the attraction.

Yes! Yes, we offer group discounts to groups of 20 or more people. Available online only.
20. Is it the same as last year?
No. We pride ourselves on changing most aspects of our shows every year so that we can provide a uniquely terrifying experience. We do keep most of our more popular elements due to public demand, but even these are tweaked each season to provide a more stimulating experience.
21. Is it as good as last year?
Better! We try our best to top ourselves each season. We spend all year designing and building new sets to give you pure horror and fun If you liked us last year, you’ll love it this year with the added attractions. The Haunted Corn Field is really scary, I even was shaken up by a staff member during the day!
